Line – (Ceiling meets the wall)
In this picture, you can see the line where the wall and the ceiling meet. There is no depth, it is simply a meeting point that created the straight line. The line was not drawn or necessarily made, but was the result of two other objects coming together to form it.

Color – (Vegetation)
This picture of the bush seems simple until you look closely at all the colors. When you take a long glance you notice: white, black, red, green, brown, and even yellow. These lighter colors can make this area feel happier and lighter. The flowers really stick out from the green in the bush because they greatly contrast the surrounding leaves.

Texture – (Cement/Stucco)
This picture of the stucco wall has real texture. Not only is it apparent to the eye, but when you touch it you can feel the uneven surface and the grooves throughout. This material is very rough, hard, and follows no pattern.

Shape – (Brick)
These bricks are rectangular shaped, outlined by the cement that holds the bricks together. Altogether, the bricks form the wall, which makes up another big rectangle.

Space – (Classroom)
This picture of the classroom exemplifies space because it shows all of the area around the desks, computers, and chairs.

Emphasis – (Orange Shoebox)
The orange shoebox is the center of this photo, and the audience is therefore drawn to look there first.  The bright color makes it the main focus of the entire composition, especially when everything else in the room is dark and bland.

Balance – (Tennis Courts)
This is a picture of tennis courts at night. The harmonizing and symmetry of the colors, lines, objects and shapes gives this photo balance. The benches repeat in the same way on both sides of the center nets. The picture is very symmetric in that the shadows of the objects and the lights all repeat on both sides.

Harmony – (Kitchen Scene)
In this picture, harmony is evident because everything built in the kitchen (leaving out the miscellaneous water bottles, bowls, etc) has a similar look.  The cupboards, refrigerator, and microwave, all have similar textures, colors, and lines (vertical and horizontal). As a result, all of these elements really look like they belong together, creating nice harmony.

Variety – (Nature meets City Life)
The vast amount of subjects in the picture explains why it fits this term. There are palm trees and bushes, dead grass and healthy grass, water, and a manmade bridge in the background.  So many different objects force your eye to notice the variety of colors, textures, materials, lights, and shadows.

Movement – (SPARTANS sign)
The red and yellow on the stadium bleachers immediately draw the attention to the center of the picture.  Also assisting with this, are the soft clouds, distant buildings, and neutral colors in the foreground and background.  All of these aspects working together direct the eye around the main attraction of the image- the SPARTANS sign on the stadium bleachers.
Proportion – (Kristen and Sykes College of Business)
Although Kristen is actually much shorter than Sykes College of Business, to the viewer of this picture, she looks taller – due to the fact that she is much closer to the camera, and therefore bigger in proportion to the building, which is further away.
Rhythm – (Landscaping)
Behind Sykes College of Business, there is landscaping that when truly analyzed, is rather strategic.  Various green plants surround select patches of mulch, drawing more attention to it.  Within the mulch are tinier plants made up of reds and yellows, which draw the eye’s attention immediately (as a result of the contrast).  These tiny plants then surround a tree, which makes up the center of the landscaping masterpiece.  Rhythm is created by the way the eye follows the vegetation and mulch until it reaches the composition, or the tree.
Unity – (Painting in Morsani Hall)
This painting, hanging on the 7th floor of Morsani Hall, exemplifies unity.  The colors all subtly work together, and the textures are all harmonious to intentionally create a beach scene.  Even against the background wall, every element flows nicely together, making it very visually appealing.

A different way to look at things
For our project we decided to do a point of view of us if we took LSD (acid). On one side of the picture it shows our original photo of the water near the Boat house, but through the eyes of us hallucinating. There is a lot of crazy and funny stuff going on in the sky that shows how distorted the view point is. We used many colorful images to make the trip look vibrant and realistic. On the other side is the picture viewed normally not tripping so you can see the drastic difference in perspectives of before ingesting the drugs and after.

Daniel Jablonowski, Tony Marsh Rating

1 Sophie Diana Group – I like how the backgrounds of the pictures are blurred.

9 Ze Hazel Group – Did you take the photo? It is a good idea but kind of original

4 Taylor Kyle Group – It is very basic but a good idea to show size and camera angle.

7 Jessie Maddie Group - The main picture is interesting and the reference picture is needed.

2 Olivia Pasama Group – Liked it a lot because of the different aspects of the picture, some editing tweaks but doesn’t take away from topic.

3 Ashley Honda Group – simple but very meaningful and the editing is on par.

5 Ricky Scott Group – It is an interesting point of view but the lines are kind of unreal looking.

10 Kat Stephanie Group – Would have been a lot better if the view from his face with ball coming at him.

11 Damian Arielle Group – The blur was used wrong, and the kid looks like he was made of straw.

6 Mike Hannah Group – At a first glance the picture is good, but with more emphasis there is a brick wall.

8 Nick Ryan Group – Good idea with blurring everything else but would like to see the batter.

Final Group Project:
Ashley, Dan, Tony, Jess, and Diana
Our project is based on the point of view of a college student. The process of this project was taking photos that represented the typical college life, editing them, and choosing an order to put them in so the project has a nice flow to it. Our first photo is multi framed. It is a sequence of a college student starting to study. The photo also consists of framing of the image, point of view, shape, movement and line. The second photo represents Life and Death . To a student getting a good grade on an exam is everything and getting a bad grade is like death. This also has framing of the image and emphasis,. The third photo moves on to what a college student do in their free time. On nice days a lot of students like to throw a football around. It is a symbol for an American lifestyle because football is a great representative of what American like to do.It also  has shape, color, and space. The next photo is a metaphor for "Party Animal". To represent this metaphor we used stuffed animal surrounded by alcohol. It also has texture, color, shape, and variety. Our final picture is of a girl "coming out of the closet". It is a double entendre. College is a time when a lot of people realize who they are and aren't afraid to hide it so that is why we decided to use it for our double entendre.

Group Evaluation:
The group worked well together and we had no problems with respecting each others ideas. Our group had to overcome a failed idea and still manage to come up with a better and new plan. everyone gave some thing to make or bluster the project.
Diana: "A"She helped a lot with getting our ideas going and giving great advice. Also, she had the camera and editing equipment for the pictures.
Jessica: "A" She was used in several pictures, and helped to keep our group on track and get the task at hand done. She did a good job at planning out where each theme would fit in.
Dan (Me): "A" I helped to think of new ideas after our original thing didn't work out. Worked hard and made sure to contribute to everything. Brought a few of the props and acted in one of the shots.
Tony: "A". He put in a lot of work to make sure our first idea worked, and even after it didn't was still helping with the new idea. He didn't complain or disagree he would just talk to the group and give some great advice.
Ashley:  "A"She was also on the team that thought of the first idea and go our second idea going. She wrote the synopsis after all of us discussed it and she put a lot of the final project together.
