Final Journal Project Synopsis
When trying
to figure out what to take pictures of I started out thinking of things I
liked, so I choose foods.
I soon realized that food isn’t that exciting to look at and that most people
have seen the same food I had taken a picture of. I bounced around going to old
infrastructure to sea life and finial fell on to the idea of nature. I didn’t just
choose nature but how nature takes back what is rightfully hers. I decided to match
up a few different sections of pictures instead of having a bunch of random
ones. I first
went around my dorm, which is the boathouse. The boathouse resides on a river and is the
worst option for campus living. I found great pictures of nature taking back area around and
even in the dorm.
Since it is an old falling apart building nature has had its time to slowly
creep up and take over.
After I got a bunch of great pictures I decided to check out the Tampa bay area
for similar things.
With much luck I happened to find several interesting pictures. The city and area
around Tampa is very well taken care of so the nature in those pictures was a
lot smaller and less forceful looking. I found a little weed plant that crept through a concrete
sidewalk and it is a good picture because it is the only natural thing around
and it casts a nice picture. Another one I found to be exciting was a hawk opening its
wings on top of an old industrial building, which happened to be turned into
the bird’s nest.
After catching a few of these pictures I wanted to show nature taking back
forcefully and also powerfully but slowly. So I decide to grab a few pictures of the
destruction of super storm sandy, which relates to me because I was in it and I
saw first hand the destruction of Mother Nature. I then focused on things that most people
can relate to and show what nature can do if they are left without people’s
supervision. I
found in interesting to compare all of these different areas from my life and
the different levels of mother natures wrath. My conclusion I got from this project is
that nature is very strong and one day it will triumph any man made structure
or object.
